IT Companies in Nottingham

How many IT providers are there in Nottingham?

Compare the Cloud lists 127 IT and cloud providers in Nottingham and across Nottinghamshire. Managed services and managed IT support account for a large share of that list, alongside data analytics and infrastructure, which makes Nottingham a market where most buyers are choosing between outsourcing models rather than between technologies.

What is the difference between managed IT support and managed services?

Managed IT support usually means a helpdesk plus device and user administration, priced per user or per device. Managed services is broader and can extend to running servers, networks, backup and cloud platforms against an agreed service level. The two terms are used interchangeably in sales material, so ask each supplier for the specific list of systems it will be accountable for, and treat anything absent from that list as your own responsibility.

What should a Nottinghamshire business ask about coverage?

Nottinghamshire businesses should ask which sites a provider actually attends, since a Nottingham-based supplier may treat Mansfield, Worksop or Newark as out of area or chargeable for travel. Get the guaranteed attendance time for each of your sites written into the agreement rather than quoted in a meeting, and check whether it is measured from the point a ticket is raised or from the point it is triaged.

When does the cheapest support contract cost more?

A low headline price almost always signals a narrow scope, and the difference reappears as out-of-scope charges for project work, migrations, hardware moves and anything outside office hours. Compare quotes on what each excludes rather than on the monthly figure. A practical test is to ask every supplier to price the same three realistic events, such as a failed server, a starter and leaver in the same week, and a small mailbox migration.
