IT Companies in Glasgow

How many IT providers are there in Glasgow?

Compare the Cloud lists 140 IT and cloud providers in Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland by population. The mix leans towards data analytics, security and infrastructure, and includes both firms serving the west of Scotland and national suppliers running Scottish operations from the city.

Should a Glasgow business also consider Edinburgh providers?

Glasgow and Edinburgh are roughly 45 miles apart and a great many suppliers work across both, so a shortlist confined to one city will miss firms that would happily serve you from the other. Treat the central belt as a single market when you are buying anything delivered remotely, and narrow to a single city only when you need an engineer on site quickly and regularly.

How do you compare providers that appear on more than one city list?

A supplier can legitimately appear under several locations because it has an office in each, because it has one office and covers a region, or because a sales presence has been listed as a place of delivery. Ask which of those three describes them, and ask how many staff are actually based at the location nearest you. That single question removes most of the duplication from a Scottish shortlist.

What should an organisation with sites across the central belt agree?

Organisations with sites in more than one town should get attendance times written per site rather than as one national figure, because a four-hour target from Glasgow city centre means something different in Ayrshire or Falkirk. Agree in advance whether travel is billed and from where it is measured. Where sites differ in criticality, price them differently rather than paying the highest tier everywhere.
