G3 Comms speeds connectivity install times with Luminet partnership

Luminet, a leading UK-based intelligent managed services provider, today announces that G3 Comms is expediting its customer connectivity times with Luminet’s flagship product “Fibre-Air” – a wireless 1GB clear channel business Internet service that can be installed in as little as 10 working days.

G3 is a leading systems integrator and provider of network and unified communications solutions – it serves its enterprise customers with global requirements.  It also has an indirect business, Genius Networks, providing bespoke global connectivity services exclusively via approved reseller partners.

G3 routinely helps enterprise customers with their connectivity services as they relocate and expand their business premises, which are typically EFM (Ethernet First Mile, over copper) or Ethernet circuits using fibre-leased lines. However, the minimum lead times for services are typically at least 50-60 days, and these can be lengthened considerably with the added, frequent complication of wayleave agreements to complete necessary fibre digs and other civil works.

James Jeffs, Director at G3 Comms: “There are always a lot of ifs, buts and maybes around ordering fibre leased lines, which makes it very hard to manage customer expectations – it will take a month before an operator like BT will even conduct the initial site survey, the result of which might show the service can’t be delivered and puts you back to square one.  Customers have their own timescales for moving, and these delays make hitting them a nightmare. Luminet’s Fibre-Air stood out because of its lead times and resilience.”

G3 Comms is also the first of Luminet’s channel partner to use its new online portal, which fully automates all sales processes. Luminet has integrated its secure, automated service portal with the G3/Genius online portal via APIs, to support 24/7 ordering and extend the visibility of service updates and other key data.

James Jeffs, Director at G3 Comms continues: “Luminet portal is such a slicker and easier way of managing our billing and ordering with an operator than sending emails back and forth or constantly checking up with account managers on the phone. These automated, self-service capabilities make a huge difference for our Genius partners too and eliminate the need for us to intervene to communicate missing information such as site survey results.  With Fibre-Air available via the Luminet portal, both G3 and our Genius partners get fast access to more value-added OTT revenues.

Sasha Williamson, CEO of Luminet, adds: “Our Fibre-Air proposition has gone down a storm in the channel market – it is solving a very real issue that is a regular frustration for business leaders who have been previously hampered with office moves because of the times it takes arranging the connectivity – G3 has doubled its orders since it started reselling the product. However, Fibre-Air is not just a temporary fix but as an essential primary or backup connection – plus it is very priced competitive with the fibre-based alternatives over 12, 24 and 36-month terms.  Fibre-Air added to our industry leading range of computing and connectivity services that are now readily available on our new portal makes for a very compelling proposition – the new portal makes it simpler, easy and faster to quote, define technical specs, order and reorder services, as well as providing better value and increased margins.”
