Veeam Software says Gartner has positioned it as a Leader in the first Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privacy UX, published on 6 October 2026. Gartner evaluated providers on completeness of vision and ability to execute. Veeam describes itself as the Data and AI Trust Company, and the placement follows its December 2025 acquisition of Securiti AI and the launch of its DataAI Command Platform.
Veeam's argument is that privacy has to survive in backups as well as production. Its DataAI Privacy capability enforces privacy policies in real time by user and jurisdiction, using an identity graph that unifies structured and unstructured personal data across hybrid multicloud environments. Through the DataAI Command Graph it applies data security posture management and classification to live and backup data, which it says closes a blind spot where personal data persists in copies after it has been governed in production. It also supports restoring the most sensitive data first during an incident.
A third element, DataAI Compliance, maps controls and evidence to more than 100 regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, DORA and the EU AI Act, to give privacy and legal teams an audit trail.
Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, said: “You can't protect what you don't understand, and you can't promise privacy you can't prove.”
Gartner's own disclaimer applies to the placement: it does not endorse any vendor, product or service in its research publications and does not advise buyers to choose only the highest-rated vendors. Veeam is offering a free copy of the report, and is holding its VeeamON Global Launch virtual event on 15 October (Americas and EMEA) and 16 October (APJ).
