Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), which describes itself as Europe's first nationwide e-Park, has passed 3,000 active resident companies. It started operations in 2018 with 338. Residents now employ more than 27,150 people, 3.3% of the country's workforce, and founders and investors in the ecosystem come from more than 50 countries.
In the first half of 2026 residents reported combined sales of MDL 10.7 billion (about €0.5 billion), 19.1% more than a year earlier, and MITP projects about MDL 20 billion (€1 billion) for the full year. About 90% of what residents build is sold for export. Their activity accounted for 5.3% of Moldova's GDP in 2025.
The sales are spread across small firms. Companies with fewer than 50 employees produced 55% of resident sales in the half, and those with fewer than 250 employees about 82%. Around two-thirds of sales came from outside the park's 35 largest companies. Locally owned firms make up 86% of residents; foreign-owned businesses are 14% of residents and about 26% of sales.
Marina Bzovîi, the park's Administrator, said the growth reflects a shift away from outsourcing: “we are increasingly seeing Moldovan companies evolve from outsourcing-led business models towards developing their own products, intellectual property and scalable solutions for international markets.”
What residents get
The core offer is a 7% single tax on sales revenue, digital-first administration and virtual residency, with the tax regime guaranteed by the state until the end of 2035. An IT Visa programme simplifies bringing in foreign executives, investors and technology specialists. The newly launched Moldova Innovation Fund, run by MITP, has an initial budget of more than EUR 1 million and plans four funding rounds over 24 months for pre-seed and early-stage projects.
