DE-CIX and Digital Realty extend US partnership to 22 more data centres

DE-CIX and Digital Realty are extending their US collaboration so customers at 22 more Digital Realty facilities in Chicago, Dallas, New York and Phoenix can reach DE-CIX internet exchange services through Digital Realty's Metro Connect service. The deal covers every Digital Realty data centre in those four metros.

The companies say it nearly doubles their joint US footprint and expands the global footprint by 25%. Customers get access to peering, cloud and AI connectivity, and private interconnection, which the companies say helps with performance, resilience and connectivity costs.

The relationship between the two goes back more than two decades and spans 16 metros in 11 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia.

Ivo Ivanov, CEO of DE-CIX, said: “In the age of AI inference and cloud-based business models, digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly distributed, making simple and reliable connectivity between data centers, networks, clouds, and applications more important than ever.”

Chris Sharp, Chief Technology Officer at Digital Realty, said “customers at every Digital Realty data center in those metros can reach the DE-CIX ecosystem through Metro Connect”, with the flexibility and neutrality customers expect from the platform.

The announcement was made on 19 October 2026. No commercial terms were disclosed.
