This week is the UK’s first Cyber Resilience Week

40 events for 2,400 leaders will be held from 11th to 15th September, across the country and online, dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of leadership and action in cyber resilience in this digital age.

Digital Leaders, the global initiative to promote digital transformation, has today announced an inaugural Cyber Resilience Week 2017. The week begins with a Social Media Thunderclap awareness campaign which will reach an audience of over 1 million people.

The aim of the week is to raise awareness of the opportunities in place to support organisational cyber resilience and to more effectively combat the cyber threats that all organisations face. During Cyber Resilience Week, there will be a series of events that will connect senior leaders and decision makers across all sectors and leverage the innovation, skills, ideas and experience from across the country.

Hosted from the 11th to the 15th of September around 40 events across the UK will offer 2,400 leaders access to best practice; allowing them to build stronger networks and a better understanding of the new thinking and innovation needed in managing effective resilience for their organisations.

Topics will cover GDPR; the power of your people and their behaviours; culture and cyber; charities and local government; cyber crime; public sector and cloud based cyber-resilient services; SMEs and protecting your business; boardroom skills; keeping our communities safe online and the internet of things.

Minister for Digital Matt Hancock said:  “We have world-leading businesses, but recent cyber attacks have shown the serious effects of not getting cyber security right. 

“I welcome this week of events to help raise awareness and urge senior executives to work with the National Cyber Security Centre and take up the Government’s advice and training.”
