Omdia Puts Veeam in the Top Slot for Managed Backup on the Strength of Its MSP Programme

Omdia has named Veeam a Champion — the highest tier — in its 2026 Global Managed Backup and Disaster Recovery Leadership Matrix, citing the strength of Veeam's MSP ecosystem and its expanding data-resilience portfolio.

Omdia's matrix evaluated 15 vendors across three categories: analyst assessment, ecosystem feedback and performance metrics. Champion status recognises strong performance across each. In Veeam's case, the analyst points to the Veeam Cloud & Service Provider (VCSP) programme, which now spans more than 12,000 MSP partners, and to a portfolio that has expanded through both organic development and targeted acquisitions.

The most recent of those acquisitions is Securiti AI, which shifts Veeam's positioning beyond backup and disaster recovery toward data security posture management and AI trust. The report highlights this evolution: Veeam Data Platform v13 and the Securiti AI addition move the vendor into territory MSPs increasingly need to defend for their customers — resilience, governance, and secure AI adoption in a single portfolio.

"Being named a Champion by Omdia validates Veeam's leadership in helping MSPs deliver trusted data resilience at scale. With more than 12,000 MSP partners and continued investment across our platform, partner programs and roadmap, Veeam is committed to helping service providers protect customer data, recover quickly from disruption and build new growth opportunities in the agentic AI era."

Michelle Graff, SVP of Global Partnerships, Veeam

For MSPs, the practical read is that data protection is becoming a broader problem than backup alone. AI adoption in customer environments raises the stakes on governance and secure data handling; Veeam's argument is that a partner ecosystem of this scale plus a portfolio that now covers posture management gives service providers a route to sell against that broader problem without stitching together multiple vendors.
