BridgerPay takes payment orchestration into retail, travel and hospitality

Payment orchestration platform BridgerPay is expanding into retail, ecommerce, travel and hospitality, bringing its Bridger Retry technology to merchants that have outgrown a single payment provider. The company said these businesses add providers, currencies, channels and payment methods every year, yet many still send every transaction down one route.

BridgerPay draws a line between a provider and an orchestrator. A provider processes a transaction, while an orchestrator lets the merchant decide which provider and route to use, and what happens if the first attempt is declined.

The platform connects merchants to more than 1,000 payment providers, with coverage in 185 countries, through a single connection. Its Router sends each transaction to the provider best suited to the market, card and currency. When a soft decline comes back, Bridger Retry passes the payment to another provider. According to BridgerPay's own data, Bridger Retry rescued $500 million in payments in 2025 that would otherwise have failed.

Daniel Holden, GM UK at BridgerPay, said: “For years the payments conversation has been about which provider to choose. That is the wrong question. The right one is how much control you have over what happens to every transaction after your customer clicks pay.”
