HCLTech and NVIDIA launch an AI validation service for automakers' software-defined vehicles

HCLTech has launched HCLTech Verification and Validation for Auto, an offering that combines agentic AI, simulation and orchestration to automate parts of vehicle software testing. It targets vehicle manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers and is built on NVIDIA's simulation stack and open models.

Software-defined vehicles put pressure on testing. Frequent over-the-air updates, complex systems and changing regulation collide with fragmented tool chains and manual, labour-intensive compliance work, which HCLTech describes as a bottleneck between development and release.

The service uses a simulation-first model that links requirements, test creation, execution, analysis and compliance evidence, and keeps a continuous digital record joining requirements to results and reporting. It draws on NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos, Alpamayo, Omniverse NuRec and Isaac Sim to generate and check scenarios in virtual environments, including rare and safety-critical conditions, which cuts reliance on physical testing. The NVIDIA Agent Toolkit orchestrates several AI agents, with reasoning from NVIDIA Nemotron open models, across the validation lifecycle.

Pankaj Tagra, Chief Growth Officer and Global Head of Mobility at HCLTech, said: "Powered by NVIDIA, HCLTech’s V&V for Auto is designed to help organizations shift from periodic, labor-intensive testing to continuous, intelligent validation, using simulation and AI to make software release decisions with greater speed and confidence."

Dr Sebastian Scheurle, EMEA industry lead for automotive enterprise at NVIDIA, said the solution "leverages world-class simulation and AI capabilities to support automakers in their journey towards moving more testing into simulation, covering rare and safety-critical scenarios earlier and releasing software with greater confidence."

HCLTech is part of the offering's Industry AI solutions portfolio. The release gives no pricing, customer names or availability dates.
