Two Cisco practices are joining forces. Viatel Technology Group, the Irish-headquartered managed services group, has acquired EDNX, a Shropshire-based enterprise networking company, in a deal that extends Viatel's technical reach across SD-WAN, SD-Access, wireless infrastructure and secure IoT.
The acquisition terms were not disclosed. EDNX, founded in 2017, holds Cisco Premier Partner status and works with organisations in healthcare, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing — sectors where network downtime and security gaps carry regulatory consequences. Viatel customers gain access to EDNX's network design and optimisation skills; EDNX customers gain access to Viatel's wider connectivity, cybersecurity and cloud services portfolio.
The deal follows Viatel's acquisition of Scottish cybersecurity firm FullProxy in July 2026, continuing the group's expansion into the UK technology services market. Network infrastructure has grown more prominent in enterprise technology planning as AI adoption increases the volume of data moving between users, sites and cloud platforms, raising demands on performance, segmentation, observability and resilience.

The combined group will cover connectivity, networking, cloud, cybersecurity and digital services across Ireland and the UK. Viatel holds ISO 27001, SOC 2 and PCI-DSS certifications in line with its obligations as a NIS2 Essential Entity. Eoghan Browne from A&L Goodbody and Gareth Cosgrove from Grant Thornton advised Viatel on the acquisition.
