Vusion will deploy its Connected Store platform in a number of new Marks and Spencer stores, with further rollout possible later. The platform is built on Bluetooth-enabled infrastructure, and its EdgeSense smart rail is designed to connect store systems, product information and colleague activity across the shopfloor.
The first phase is practical rather than headline-grabbing. It covers managing product information more effectively, helping colleagues find products faster through location-aware features such as flashing labels, simplifying in-store inventory processes and shopfloor execution, and laying a digital foundation that could support further store innovation. The number of stores, the timetable and the contract value were not disclosed.
Roy Horgan, CEO UK and Ireland at Vusion, said: "We are pleased to be working with M&S as it continues to invest in its store estate and colleague experience."
