DataCore adds an AI assistant to SANsymphony for natural-language storage troubleshooting

DataCore has launched DataCore AI, an assistant that lets storage administrators ask questions in natural language and get answers on performance, potential faults and data protection. It is available now for SANsymphony, DataCore's software-defined storage product, for customers running SANsymphony 10.0 PSP21 or later. A version for Swarm object storage is to follow, with further DataCore products planned after that.

DataCore draws a line between its assistant and AI tools tied to a single hardware vendor. DataCore AI works across the heterogeneous block storage environments that SANsymphony manages, which the company says avoids vendor lock-in. It combines operational intelligence, telemetry, product documentation and DataCore's own support expertise, and administrators stay in control of every decision. Example questions include "Why is this storage pool degraded?", "Is this virtual disk experiencing abnormal latency?" and "Is my data protection configuration healthy?"

The roadmap is explicit about where this is going. DataCore said it aims to move from assisted insights and troubleshooting towards guided remediation and agentic workflows.

Abhi Dey, chief product officer at DataCore, said: "For too long, storage teams have carried the full cognitive load of managing complex infrastructure, manually chasing alerts and piecing together clues before they can even begin to solve a problem." He called the launch "the first step in DataCore’s AI vision". Marcel Opitz, Head of Datacenter at partner DTS Systeme GmbH, said: "As storage environments become more complex, IT teams face growing pressure to do more with less."
