The deal follows a partnership announced last week in which ITQ selected Leaseweb as its infrastructure provider for VMware Cloud Foundation services. Combined, the two transactions bring Leaseweb's total core count to 65,000, which the company says makes it the largest VMware Pinnacle Partner in the Netherlands.
The 51 acquired VCSP customers were previously operating under Broadcom's VMware Advantage Partner programme. Under the new arrangement, they can continue marketing their propositions under Leaseweb's Pinnacle status, with the company transacting directly with Broadcom to provide a fully authorised platform. Partners retain access to ITQ's VMware expertise through the ongoing knowledge-partner relationship between the two organisations.
Leaseweb and ITQ are also targeting non-renewing Broadcom VMware VCSP partners globally, offering a supported migration path to Leaseweb's infrastructure under the Pinnacle Partner programme. Leaseweb will provide VMware VCF 9.x infrastructure; ITQ handles advisory, implementation and migration support.
The acquisition consolidates a significant slice of the European VMware mid-market at a moment when Broadcom's partner programme changes are forcing many VCSPs to reassess their infrastructure arrangements. Founded in 1997, Leaseweb operates 28 data centres across ten countries and participates in the IPCEI-CIS European cloud infrastructure initiative.
