The API Scoring tool evaluates APIs on technical correctness, clarity of documentation, behavioural consistency, security controls, and machine-discoverability. It is available immediately at no cost, both as a CLI that can be integrated into developer pipelines and as a web interface.
The CLI is designed for continuous use: teams run an initial scan, then configure automated rescoring each time code is updated. The result is a trackable record of how an API estate's AI-readiness changes over time as engineering teams make improvements.
The scoring framework was developed with input from senior members of the OpenAPI Initiative, including a Business Governance Board member and an OpenAPI Ambassador, both of whom have joined Jentic.
The underlying problem Jentic is trying to solve is a gap between what validators catch and what AI agents actually need. A linter confirms syntax; it says nothing about whether an agent can autonomously execute against an API at runtime. Most deployed APIs were not designed with those requirements in mind, and there has been no standardised way to measure the gap.
Jentic describes itself as an AI infrastructure company focused on bridging AI agents into enterprise API landscapes. The tool is positioned as the first step before more comprehensive integration work.
