Lumera completes migration of 1.1 million investment accounts for Nordea Life and Pension Norway

Nordea Life and Pension Norway now has 1.3 million investment accounts running on Lumera's cloud-based platform, after a series of migrations completed this autumn.

Lumera, a Stockholm-headquartered insurtech supplier to the life and pensions industry, announced the milestone on 02 November 2026. The latest migration moved 1.1 million accounts and is the biggest to date in a multi-year programme to modernise how Nordea Life and Pension administers its life and pension insurance portfolio. The programme replaces legacy systems in phases and is, Lumera says, proceeding to plan for completion by 2030.

Lumera took end-to-end responsibility for planning, development, implementation, go-live and hypercare. With the migrations done and hypercare formally concluded, the investment-account part of the project has moved into normal operation.

Øyvind Grini, managing director of Lumera Norway, pointed to the close of hypercare as the marker of success.

"The successful completion of these migrations and the conclusion of hypercare mark an important achievement in our transformation journey with Nordea Life and Pension Norway." said Øyvind Grini.

Nordea Life and Pension, part of the Nordea Group, is one of the three largest private life insurers in Norway. The new platform is intended to make it easier to develop digital services while reducing complexity across the application estate, with lower costs and reduced operational risk among the expected benefits.
