Exotec has appointed Clémence Munier as Global Vice President, Grocery, a newly created role that reflects the warehouse robotics provider's push into vertical-specific expertise. She will shape its grocery strategy across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Munier has more than ten years in grocery, across retail and e-commerce automation. She most recently served as Vice President of New Business Acquisition at Ocado Group, where she built and led the global team that won new partners for the Ocado Smart Platform and grew its portfolio to 15 retailers worldwide. Before that she led a team of vendor managers at Amazon UK, owning the commercial strategy and P&L for its grocery category.
Exotec says grocery places hard demands on automation, because fulfilment centres must handle fast and slow movers, serve omnichannel orders and move both perishable and non-perishable goods. As both an OEM and an integrator, it builds vertical-specific solutions on modular technology so customers can add robots and third-party machinery without redesigning the warehouse. Its grocery customers include E. Leclerc, Carrefour and Colruyt.
"The grocery industry can gain significantly from automating. Labor costs are rising. The operator talent pool is shrinking," said Arthur Bellamy, Chief Revenue Officer at Exotec.
