Datadog's observability and security platform is now available on the Amazon Web Services Europe (London) Region, giving UK organisations the option to keep monitoring data in-region for the first time.
The launch completes a move flagged in March, when Datadog announced plans to establish a UK data centre presence. Products and services are now live on the AWS London Region, with storage located in-region for customers who need it.
The practical difference for many UK enterprises is regulatory and operational. Observability and security telemetry — logs, metrics, traces, security signals — can now be stored within the UK rather than routed to European or transatlantic regions. For organisations in financial services, healthcare, government and higher education, where data residency is a compliance requirement rather than a preference, it removes a category of governance risk without requiring a change of platform.
"UK enterprises scaling cloud and AI workloads increasingly want the option to keep observability and security data in-region to support their data governance and operational resilience. AI is accelerating the complexity of modern systems, creating more data, dependencies, and potential points of failure. This milestone helps customers keep observability and security data close to their workloads while maintaining the resilience and governance needed to operate at scale. With end-to-end visibility across infrastructure, applications, security, and AI, Datadog gives customers the complete picture they need to maintain operational control."
Yanbing Li, Chief Product Officer, Datadog
Steve Barrett, VP EMEA at Datadog, noted that AI workloads are adding a layer of operational complexity that makes the in-region option more material:
"Cloud adoption is now the norm for UK organisations, and AI is adding a new layer of operational complexity. As systems become more distributed, observability becomes increasingly important to maintaining resilience, security and control. Launching on the AWS Europe (London) Region gives customers the option to keep their observability and security data in-region, helping them strengthen governance while continuing to scale with confidence."
Steve Barrett, VP EMEA, Datadog
Datadog (NASDAQ: DDOG) describes itself as an AI-powered observability and security platform. The AWS London Region launch adds to its existing service locations across North America, Asia and continental Europe.
