Hiring data from Q2 2026 shows a notable acceleration in roles designed not to replace workers with AI, but to define exactly how humans and AI agents work alongside each other. The trend spans automotive, financial services, pharma, and technology — and the job titles are growing specific.
GlobalData's Job Analytics Database tracked continued growth in positions explicitly referencing human-AI collaboration through the second quarter of the year. The common thread across industries is not deployment of AI tools but the design of governance: who decides, who delegates, and who checks the output.
In financial services, Chubb's "VP, AI Operating Model and Execution" defines which tasks stay human and which transfer to AI agents, building feedback loops and responsible AI guardrails into daily execution. JPMorgan has hired a "Human-AI Conversational Designer, Vice President" to map end-to-end client and advisor journeys across human judgment and agentic AI systems. State Street is hiring a "Head of Process Re-engineering and AI-led Operating Model Redesign, Managing Director" — a title that reads as a job description in itself.
In pharma, GSK's "Product Director, Molecule Design Products" champions human-AI interaction design for scientific portfolios. Johnson & Johnson is establishing an enterprise AI experience marketplace through its "Sr. Director, Data & Agentic AI Experience, Orthopedics." On the technology side, Salesforce has created a "Director, Human-AI Collaboration" specifically for redesigning workflows around usability and trust. UiPath's "Senior Director, GTM Strategy & Execution — Agentic Orchestration" signals the shift toward end-to-end process transformation driven by human-AI-bot collaboration.
"The focus is on not merely about automation but about creating synergies between human intelligence and AI capabilities with the objective of enhancing productivity, improving decision-making, and driving innovation," said Sherla Sriprada, Business Fundamentals Analyst at GlobalData.
The spread of agentic AI into core operations appears to be forcing the organisational design question. Pilot projects that sat outside normal workflows are becoming the workflow. The hiring response — creating VP- and director-level positions devoted to mapping the human-AI boundary — reflects how central that design problem has become for large enterprises.
