Cequence Platform 9.0 makes the API security interface optional

Ten billion API interactions a day and most enterprise security teams still need an expert in the room to get value from their tools. Cequence Security's argument with Platform 9.0 is that the expert should be optional: any practitioner, agent, or automation workflow ought to be able to drive API security directly.

Platform 9.0 ships with a built-in AI Assistant that accepts plain-language queries against live platform data — "What is my biggest risk right now?" returns ranked, evidence-backed findings without requiring users to navigate the interface. More significantly, the entire platform is now exposed through an open Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, meaning SOAR platforms, custom AI agents, and orchestration workflows can drive Cequence directly with no custom integration required.

"Most vendors looked at the agentic era and added a chatbot. We looked at it and rebuilt the architecture," said Ameya Talwalkar, CEO and Co-Founder at Cequence. "Cequence Platform 9.0 exposes the entire Cequence platform through an open MCP architecture so any agent can operate it directly, whether through our built-in AI Assistant, or a customer's own agent. That is what AI-native actually means: the UI becomes optional. We are building for the way the agentic enterprise already works, while making sure a human approves every change along the way."

The compliance layer is the other headline. Platform 9.0 ships 250+ pre-built risk rules mapped to 25 global frameworks, including OWASP API Security Top 10 (all versions), PCI DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, DORA, and NIS2. One-click audit-ready reports map live findings to specific framework controls with remediation guidance — no professional services, no custom development.

Underneath both, the API security engine has been rebuilt. The new version supports 50 times more endpoints at a smaller CPU footprint, with sub-five-second page loads across all views regardless of scale. For enterprises running ML-driven API estates where endpoint counts are growing faster than most other inventory categories, that headroom matters.

Cequence protects more than 10 billion daily API interactions and 4 billion user accounts. Platform 9.0 is available now for new customers.
