Compliance teams that spent years building capture regimes for WhatsApp and Signal now face a newer problem: staff are conducting substantive work inside ChatGPT and Codex, and regulators will eventually ask to see it. Arctera is updating its Unified Platform to capture AI tool prompts and responses as part of the governed record, alongside a broader set of platform improvements announced today.
The company, a business unit of Cloud Software Group created from Veritas Technologies in 2024, says the core challenge driving the release is continuity. Compliance teams are increasingly expected not just to flag issues but to demonstrate the full chain of evidence: what was found, how it was investigated, whether controls worked, and why decisions were made. As AI tools and regulated communications multiply, that chain becomes harder to assemble.
The latest release includes expanded capture across LeapXpert mobile messaging channels and native collection for LSEG Messenger, end-to-end reconciliation to identify missing or delayed data, legal hold notifications to strengthen preservation workflows, and review enhancements including one-click inline translation for eDiscovery. A new set of reporting tools covers reviewer activity, hot words, and roles to help teams demonstrate compliance activity to regulators.
