ANS strengthens cloud app development capabilities with new acquisition

Independent Cloud Services Provider ANS Group has acquired Webantic, a cloud transformation and application development specialist, cementing its position as the UK’s #1 Cloud Services Provider.

Webantic, founded in 2011, is an expert in innovative digital transformation and cloud application development, helping organisations build new applications and experiences for the digital era. ANS currently boasts Microsoft Gold Cloud Platform Provider and AWS Advance Partner status. This acquisition bolsters the company’s ability to offer end-to-end managed cloud services. Enabling ANS customers not only to migrate and manage their applications but develop next-generation digital business applications in the public cloud.

ANS has shown impressive growth in cloud services in recent years having worked with some of the UK’s leading enterprise and public-sector organisations. Projects include consultative assessments, supporting customers in their migrations to Microsoft Azure and AWS as well as big data and machine learning solutions.

Commenting on the demand for cloud-native applications Andy Barrow, CTO at ANS said: “Organisations are using hyperscale public cloud services as the most strategic way of addressing the new world business challenges of infrastructure and, even more importantly, modern application development. Disruptive trends, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning are developing at a staggering rate and are beginning to impact every industry. In response to this, we’re now seeing a fundamental shift in the need to provide scalability, speed and flexibility through cloud technology.”

Commenting on the acquisition, Luke Grimes, managing director at Webantic said: “We are excited about this next chapter and are delighted to have found an organisation that shares our vision and passion for innovation. We believe that ANS is the perfect platform for growth and opportunity for the entire Webantic team.”

Paul Shannon, CEO at ANS added: “Webantic brings outstanding expertise in the development of complex cloud-native applications. Like us, it’s a business that has a focus on customer need whilst delivering exceptional technical solutions. These are foundations that make for an exciting future together.

“The acquisition of Webantic means that our customers will now have a single point of expertise for cloud application development, migration and management services as well as cloud-ready networks.”
