Well, I'm signing off from Huawei Cloud Congress Europe 2016. It's been an interesting day and a half, with discussions on enterprise IT, cloud transformation, supercomputers, virtual reality and more.

When asked about whether Huawei would be purchasing IT businesses based outside of China, Mr Zheng responded in light-hearted fashion, stressing that the company is very open and willing to work with many international partners, pointing to its R&D centres based all over the world.Customers want one vendor capable of delivering unified storage and software solutions and relatively uniform hardware capabilities.Huawei is committed to using OpenStack’s cloud platform. They believe the majority of customers will prefer this ecosystem as it is easy to deploy and manage.Strained China-US relations are not a major concern for Huawei. They are simply interested in delivering the best solutions for their customers, including working with talented US engineers to create them.Huawei admitted that delivering end-to-end services in Europe is more of a challenge than delivering a good product.
