Arctera Moves Compliance Delivery to SaaS After Cloud Software Group Acquisition

Arctera, the compliance and governance platform spun out of Veritas Technologies in 2024, has restructured around a SaaS operating model following its acquisition by Cloud Software Group last December — consolidating product, engineering, and go-to-market under a single structure focused on cloud-based compliance at enterprise scale.

The transition removes predefined limits on data volume, users, and environments, which Arctera frames as the central constraint of legacy on-premises compliance deployments. Regulatory expectations, the company notes, now extend beyond individual systems into how data is accessed, shared, and retained across the entire organisation — a dynamic that has accelerated as AI-generated content and multi-cloud architectures increase the volume and variety of data requiring governance.

At the core of the new model is the Arctera Unified Platform, which brings together capture, archive and retention, surveillance, and discovery within a single integrated foundation. The platform currently connects to more than 130 content sources and applies more than 280 AI policies across compliance workflows. On-premises customers will continue to be served through a separate dedicated organisation.

"Enterprise compliance is no longer system-specific, rather it has become a system-wide requirement," said Soniya Bopache, GM and SVP at Arctera. "Organisations must apply governance consistently across everything they manage. Arctera's SaaS model is designed to help organisations maintain compliance as their needs expand, without being constrained by challenges of legacy systems."

Cloud Software Group completed its acquisition of Arctera in December 2025. The SaaS transition marks the company's first significant structural move under new ownership, pointing toward a consolidated go-to-market approach rather than a split portfolio across deployment models.

Arctera is headquartered at www.arctera.com.
