Submer Group launches Rubix Data Centres with 8GW+ AI campus portfolio across three regions

Rubix launches as a distinct business within Submer Group, operating alongside its existing neocloud unit inferX. The structure gives Submer a full stack from physical land and power through immersive cooling and compute, with Rubix handling the development and operations layer.

Leading Rubix is John Eland, previously CEO of STACK Infrastructure EMEA and before that Global Chief Strategy Officer at NTT Global Data Centres. Senior Vice President Alison Gutman, who also served at STACK EMEA, leads global business operations. The two were recruited specifically for a portfolio at a scale that requires large-site origination, grid access negotiation, and hyperscale-grade delivery.

Submer's position in the supply chain — it has existing relationships with GPU manufacturers and hyperscale cloud operators through its cooling technology and inferX neocloud business — is cited as giving Rubix early visibility into where AI compute demand is heading before it translates into build orders.

The launch comes at Datacloud Global Congress, where Eland and Gutman are attending. M&G Investments, which leads on the funding side through its Catalyst fund focused on purpose-led technology, described the investment as aimed at energy-efficient AI infrastructure for long-term investors.
