Sage Brings in Salesforce and McKinsey Veterans to Lead Product and Strategy

Two executives with roots in large-scale enterprise technology are joining Sage's leadership team this month, as the FTSE-listed accounting software provider deepens its AI push for small and medium-sized businesses.

Krish Vitaldevara takes the Chief Product Officer role on 18 May, followed by Anand Swaminathan as Chief Strategy Officer on 15 June. Both join the Executive Leadership Team and will be based in San Jose, California.

Vitaldevara spent his most recent years at Salesforce, serving as General Manager and Executive Vice President following the acquisition of Informatica, where he led the integration of products, people, and processes. Earlier in his career he held senior leadership roles at NetApp, Google, and Microsoft, and holds more than 30 patents covering distributed systems, trust and safety, and anomaly detection.

Swaminathan joins from McKinsey, where as Senior Partner he advised boards on AI transformation, technology-enabled growth, and enterprise change. He previously held senior roles at Accenture Digital, helping scale the business globally across strategy, data, AI, and cloud. He is also an author, investor, and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at Case Western Reserve University.

Steve Hare, CEO, said: "Krish and Anand are proven leaders with deep experience building and scaling world-class products and businesses. Their appointments reflect our continued investment in innovation and growth, and I'm excited about the impact they'll have for our customers, colleagues and partners."

Vitaldevara's brief is explicitly AI-forward: his mandate includes ensuring Sage continues to develop trusted, intuitive, and intelligent AI solutions for the SMB market. Swaminathan takes on corporate strategy and long-term value creation, working closely with the wider leadership team.
