Lumera has announced the completion of two major migrations for Nordea Liv Norway, delivered during the first half of 2026. The work covered more than 70,000 contracts, 163,000 investment accounts and 58 million transactions transferred to Lumera’s cloud-based policy administration platform.
The migrations are part of a wider transformation programme that Lumera and Nordea Liv started in 2023, with completion scheduled for 2030. Lumera manages the full project scope: planning, development, migration and production launch. The approach is designed to let Nordea Liv modernise its core enterprise systems while keeping live operations running.
Jonas Alfredson, CEO of Lumera Group, described the scale of the effort: “This project is a comprehensive undertaking, with large volumes of data and strict demands on quality and stability. Working closely with Nordea Liv, we have now completed two important migrations that lay the foundation for further modernisation and development.”
For Nordea Liv, the new platform is the enabling layer for digital services the insurer plans to build on top of its policy administration function. The existing application landscape was described as complex, and reducing that complexity is a stated aim of the programme.
Anders Granstad, CEO of Nordea Liv Norway, confirmed the milestone: “This is an important milestone in the modernisation of our systems. Together with Lumera, we have completed an extensive migration that lays a solid foundation for further development and innovation.”
Lumera’s work in Norway represents the kind of legacy modernisation that life and pension providers across Europe face as their legacy systems, many built decades ago, become the primary obstacle to digital product launches. Lumera positions itself as a specialist in this transition, with offices in the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Vietnam. The principal investor is Monterro, a Nordic software fund.
