Hg has agreed to invest in a new AI transformation company aimed at European businesses, with participation from Anthropic and angel investors. The London-based investor announced the deal on 3 November 2026. The release does not name the company, which will formally launch later this year.
It will be an independent entity that works with organisations on AI adoption and on building AI-native products, with the stated aim of moving them beyond pilots to measurable operational impact. The company will build on Claude and use forward deployed engineers, embedding technical staff with client teams.
The target customers are European businesses with distinctive intellectual property, deep domain expertise and long-standing customer relationships, operating across a complex mix of languages and regulatory regimes.
Steve Corfield, Head of Global Business Development and Partnerships at Anthropic, said: "Businesses are looking for experienced teams to help them put Claude to work." Hg co-CEOs Steve Batchelor and JB Brian said the deal builds on the firm's early conviction in AI. The release gives no investment amount, valuation or founding team.
Hg describes itself as an investor in European and transatlantic technology and services businesses, with more than $110 billion in assets under management and a portfolio of around 60 businesses.
