Cequence Security closes its biggest deal ever as agentic AI security demand accelerates

The San Jose-based API and agentic AI security vendor reported record momentum in Q4 FY26, with new customer wins spanning Saudi Arabia, Qatar, South Korea, Brazil and the United States. Channel partner activity also grew, with the company's first Southeast Asian win sourced entirely through its partner network.

The Middle East was a standout region. Cequence won competitive evaluations in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE against incumbent vendors, in digital banking, fintech and government verticals. EMEA and Latin America also added new regional footholds, alongside Canada.

On the product side, the company launched general availability of Agent Personas in its Cequence AI Gateway, described as the first automated infrastructure-level implementation of least-privilege access for AI agents at the individual tool-call level. The AI Gateway now covers more than 190 verified enterprise application integrations.

“Enterprises are racing to put agentic AI to work, but the security foundation to support it simply hasn’t kept pace. Our customers, whether they’re defending against sophisticated fraud, securing critical APIs, or safely connecting AI agents to their most sensitive applications, are all solving versions of the same problem. This quarter’s results reflect what happens when you’ve spent a decade building toward this moment. The market is ready, and so are we,” said Ameya Talwalkar, CEO at Cequence.

Cequence also appointed Chandra Rentachintala as VP of Engineering, a veteran of Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks and Shape Security/F5. The appointment follows recognition in the 2025 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 at number 128, reflecting 652% revenue growth over the preceding four years.

The company’s positioning centres on a unified platform that secures applications, APIs and AI agents. As AI agents get broader access to sensitive systems, the privilege model that governs API calls becomes the primary attack surface.
