Volante and Circle offer banks a path to stablecoin settlement

A collaboration between Volante Technologies and Circle Internet Group, announced on 28 September 2026, will allow banks to integrate USDC stablecoin payment and settlement workflows into their existing payments infrastructure. The arrangement lets financial institutions explore stablecoin capabilities alongside established fiat payment rails without deploying a separate digital asset stack.

The collaboration targets financial institutions that want to adopt stablecoin capabilities from their current infrastructure. Rather than deploying a separate digital asset stack, banks can route both fiat and stablecoin transactions through Volante's orchestration platform, reducing the operational and compliance complexity of managing separate systems.

Volante clients, which include four of the top five global corporate banks and seven of the top 10 US banks, can evaluate workflows including minting, redemption, beneficiary wallet registration, funding, notifications, and wallet-to-wallet payment execution within the same payments infrastructure they use today.

Circle (NYSE: CRCL) is the issuer of USDC, one of the largest stablecoins by market capitalisation. The collaboration brings USDC liquidity and Circle's network into the Volante AI-powered Payments Platform.

"As stablecoins become an increasingly important component of modern payments infrastructure, financial institutions need practical ways to understand how digital dollars can fit within existing operations. Our collaboration with Volante does exactly that by bringing USDC capabilities into the systems, controls, and processes banks already use, and helping them move from exploration toward operational implementation," said Nikhil Chandhok, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Circle.

"For banks, stablecoin adoption is not about building a separate digital asset stack; it is about integrating a new rail into the payment infrastructure they already depend on," said Deepak Gupta, Chief Product, Engineering, and Delivery Officer at Volante Technologies. "Volante clients can soon test USDC workflows within our AI-powered Payments Platform, including how stablecoin activity can be orchestrated alongside existing rails, operational controls, and on- and off-ramp requirements."
