Four product announcements at VeeamON 2026 in New York mark Veeam's shift from backup vendor to what it describes as a data and AI trust company: the DataAI Command Platform from the Securiti AI acquisition, a Veeam Data Platform v13.1 preview with post-quantum encryption and expanded threat detection, an M365-focused resilience tool called Intelligent ResOps, and a Data and AI Trust Maturity Model derived from research with more than 300 CIOs and CISOs.
The DataAI Command Platform is the headline announcement. Built on the Securiti AI acquisition — the top-ranked data security posture management platform in GigaOm's 2025 radar — it combines data and AI security, governance, compliance, privacy and precision resilience in a single layer that spans both live and backup environments simultaneously. The platform exposes 300+ connectors across cloud, SaaS, and on-premises systems and maps against more than 100 regulatory frameworks including the EU AI Act, DORA, and GDPR. A key design decision is enforcing data governance at the source rather than at the agent, which Veeam argues closes the structural gap in runtime-only approaches to agentic AI control.
Veeam Data Platform v13.1 adds more than 70 features to the existing product. The most significant are expanded threat detection coverage to include AWS, Azure, NAS, and Microsoft 365; Active Directory Forest Recovery for identity resilience; post-quantum cryptography support; and lower-cost long-term retention tiers. General availability is targeted for early Q3 2026.
Intelligent ResOps is a new resilience capability for Microsoft 365 that uses the DataAI Command Graph to enable surgical recovery — restoring only the impacted data rather than rewinding entire systems. The Data and AI Trust Maturity Model provides a framework across four pillars, 12 dimensions, and 49 sub-dimensions at five maturity levels for enterprises benchmarking their AI readiness.
The infrastructure to deploy AI exists. The infrastructure to trust it doesn’t. With the DataAI Command Platform, Veeam is building the missing layer combining resilience, security, governance, compliance and privacy, in one platform.
Veeam says autonomous AI agents now outnumber human employees at enterprise customers by 82 to 1, with 97 percent of those agents carrying excessive privileges. Whether that figure comes from Veeam's own data or third-party research is not specified in the release. The company has 550,000 customers across 150-plus countries and covers 77 percent of the Global 2000.
