Traditional data centre construction struggles to match the density and deployment speed that accelerated computing demands. Corenix, the new Submer Group company announced today, is designed to close that gap with a modular approach: each platform is engineered around an NVIDIA reference design, customised for the client, integrated and tested as a complete functional unit at a production facility, and then delivered ready for on-site commissioning.
Martin Renkis has been appointed CEO. He joins from Johnson Controls, where he led Data Centre Infrastructure Services and developed AI infrastructure offerings covering power, cooling, heat recovery, operations, and financing. He was also founder and CEO of Smartvue, an IoT platform acquired by Johnson Controls, and Trainersoft, an enterprise e-learning company acquired by OutStart.
"Customers need clarity before they commit: what needs to be built, how it will be tested, who is accountable, and when it will become operational," Renkis said. "That's the foundation I'm building Corenix on from day one. Corenix puts a dated program and a go-live date on the table before a contract exists. One team stays accountable from factory integration and testing through on-site commissioning and operational readiness."
Corenix draws on Submer Group's infrastructure track record. The group has deployed more than 500 MW of liquid-cooled infrastructure and holds more than 8 GW of powered land across the Americas, EMEA and APAC; one modular campus delivered hundreds of megawatts of capacity nine months from order to completion. Patrick Smets, CEO of Submer Group, said the spin-out brings that delivery experience into a dedicated business. "AI factories are driving unprecedented demand for new data centre capacity, and the market needs a faster, more predictable way to build it," Smets said.
Corenix operates alongside two other Submer Group companies: Rubix Data Centres, which develops and operates AI data centre campuses, and Radian Arc, which provides GPU-as-a-Service and AI-as-a-Service. The company is headquartered in Houston, Texas.
