Regulated industries have been pushing data management decisions up to the board level for the past two years, driven by a tightening of data sovereignty rules, tighter internal security policies, and a wave of public-sector procurement requirements that rule out SaaS-only platforms. Semarchy has responded by adding Red Hat OpenShift and SUSE Rancher RKE2 as certified deployment targets for its Data Platform, available from today.
The expanded support lets organisations run Semarchy on infrastructure they control, whether on-premises, in a private cloud, or through a hosting partner, without giving up the platform's master data management capabilities. It sits alongside existing deployment paths: Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services private-cloud, a native Snowflake app, and Semarchy's own managed SaaS service.
"With OpenShift and Rancher support, we are giving customers more control over how they run Semarchy's solutions," said Craig Gravina, CTO at Semarchy. "Every organization has different requirements, and our goal is to make sure they can choose the deployment model that works for them. Other data management vendors limit deployment options to SaaS only, forcing customers to make unwanted trade offs."
The company positions the move against a broader pattern of market consolidation narrowing deployment choices across the data management sector. OpenShift and Rancher are both widely adopted in financial services, healthcare, the public sector and manufacturing, the four verticals Semarchy highlights as most likely to benefit.
Analyst commentary comes from IDC. Stewart Bond, Vice President of Data Intelligence and Integration Software, said that the ability to run data management across SaaS, private-cloud and self-managed environments is becoming a procurement requirement rather than a preference, particularly in organisations where data residency and governance sit at the business level rather than with IT.
Semarchy describes itself as a pioneer of intelligent data products for the agentic enterprise, covering master data management, stewardship and consumption for teams, agents and applications.
