The new offering, called Network 360, makes Riverbed IQ and its conversational interface Riverbed Q native features of both products. The AI layer correlates evidence across packet-capture and flow data, identifies likely causes and recommends next steps. Engineers can examine the underlying evidence at any point to verify a recommendation before acting on it.
A third component, NPM+, extends visibility to remote users, Zero Trust environments and public cloud environments, providing endpoint-derived intelligence for infrastructure the enterprise does not own. All three components are available immediately at no premium over existing AppResponse and NetProfiler subscriptions.
The timing follows a warning from the UK National Cyber Security Centre in June 2026 that hostile actors had compromised internet-facing routers at telecoms companies and ISPs, in some cases creating tunnels to extract traffic. Zero Trust, remote access and encrypted connections create a class of visibility problem: network teams investigating performance or security issues across paths they cannot directly inspect.
"For decades, network monitoring tools have surfaced the evidence, but network professionals have still had to manually connect the dots," said Richard Tworek, chief technology officer at Riverbed. "That model can no longer keep pace as applications span data centres, public clouds and SaaS environments, employees work from anywhere, and Zero Trust architectures add new visibility gaps across networks IT may not own or control."
Riverbed was recognised as a Leader and Fast Mover in GigaOm's 2026 Radar Report for Network Observability. GigaOm's Whit Walters observed that the same IQ intelligence layer also underpins Riverbed Aternity, the company's digital employee experience tool. "Riverbed is in the upper echelon of companies redefining network operations through the application of AI," he said.
