The partnership deepens an established relationship between Sophos and OpenAI through the Daybreak Cyber Partner Program, which pairs leading cybersecurity vendors with OpenAI to build practical applications for defenders. This agreement focuses specifically on the channel, giving MSPs access to OpenAI frontier models within the security stack they already operate rather than requiring separate integrations.
Sophos Fusion connects endpoint, network, email, cloud, identity and security operations in a single architecture. The intent is for OpenAI models to enhance detection, investigation and response workflows within that system, compounding intelligence across every control point. Sophos has not specified which models will be used or on what timeline, with more detail expected in the coming months.
Also disclosed: Sophos AI Defense, entering early access in August 2026. The product tracks how AI and shadow AI tools are used across an organization, enforces policy on that usage, and governs how sensitive data moves through AI systems. Sophos intends to extend that protection through the OpenAI partnership to cover AI workloads directly.
For MSPs, the significance is practical: frontier AI arrives inside a platform they already manage, not as a separate product to onboard and maintain. Sophos says its channel network spans more than 25,000 partners across 625,000 customer organizations.
