MSB Group picks Totalmobile's Field First platform after winning major Coastline Housing contract

MSB Group, an electrical and mechanical contractor headquartered in Cornwall, has selected Totalmobile's multi-award-winning Field First platform to modernise its field operations. The investment followed a significant new contract win with Coastline Housing and reflects a broader effort to build the operational foundation the business needs as its contract portfolio grows.

The platform connects scheduling, job management, and field operations in a single system, giving all 70 staff access to the same real-time information. For office teams, this means improved planning and visibility of work in progress. For engineers on site, it means less administration and faster access to the job details required to complete work safely and to standard.

James Shannon, Commercial Manager at MSB Group, said: "Winning the Coastline Housing contract gave us the opportunity to step back and ask whether our existing systems were capable of supporting where the business is heading. Rather than simply replacing technology, we wanted to invest in a platform that would help us operate more effectively as we continue to grow."

Totalmobile's Managing Director of Commercial and Infrastructure, Rob Gilbert, framed the decision in broader market terms. Contractors across the housing and building services sector are increasingly moving away from disconnected field service systems as housing providers raise expectations around service quality, compliance, and resident outcomes. "The organisations that scale successfully are the ones that invest in operational consistency before complexity becomes a barrier," he said.

The programme is one of a growing number of digital field service investments among UK contractors supporting housing customers. Totalmobile, which is headquartered in Belfast, positions Field First as a platform for businesses managing complex, multi-site field operations.
