The energy transition is outpacing the workforce that runs it. Solar, wind and storage capacity is growing faster than operators can hire and train the specialists needed to evaluate alarms, coordinate maintenance, and handle compliance — work that is still done largely by hand.
Invertix, founded in February 2026 by Joseph Perrotta and Kaan Durmaz, takes a layered approach to the problem. Rather than competing with frontier AI labs, it builds on top of their models and adds its own layer trained on energy operations data, grounded in physics-informed neural networks and differentiable simulators. A data sovereignty layer keeps operator and grid data inside the customer's environment, not used to train third-party models.
The production numbers give the story its weight. Proposal engineering runs 50 to 100 percent faster. Procurement processes that previously took around 60 hours complete in about one hour. Asset monitoring and field-team dispatch now run close to fully autonomously. Three Invertix agent teams, the company says, deliver the output of around 20 people.
"Everyone is talking about how much energy AI needs. Almost nobody is building the AI that actually runs the energy system. That is what we do. Going from founding to production at TotalEnergies On in seven months showed us how big the need is, and YC lets us move at the speed this market demands," said Perrotta.
Invertix has four active pilots with European energy companies alongside its TotalEnergies ON deployment. Its sales pipeline exceeds 100 GW, up from roughly 10 GW when it closed a €1.7 million pre-seed round in May, led by Vireo Ventures. The company is one of a small number of European energy-AI firms in the current YC cohort.
