Gulf Bank's investment arm goes live on Avaloq as first client in Kuwait

The deployment consolidates InvestGB's wealth management, portfolio management, fund administration, credit and lending activities onto a single Avaloq platform, replacing what the firm described as fragmented systems. The platform now handles Lombard lending, collateral management and securities lending alongside regulatory and compliance functions, including Know Your Client (KYC) processes.

InvestGB serves private individuals, institutions and family offices across Kuwait and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council. The firm's paid-up capital stands at KWD 10 million.

A key element of the rollout is Avaloq's RM Workplace, which brings client data into a unified view, automates portfolio rebalancing and investment proposals, and is intended to free relationship managers from managing disconnected systems.

Samer Obaid, Managing Director of Information Technology at InvestGB, described the go-live as a milestone in the firm's digitisation agenda: "Going live with Avaloq is a major milestone in our digital transformation journey and reflects our commitment to innovation and our mission to deliver long term value to our clients. With Avaloq's advanced technology now fully operational, we are strengthening our wealth management capabilities, fostering growth through innovation, and positioning ourselves to address the evolving needs of our high net worth and corporate clients."

Jinnan Hussain, Senior Vice President of Information Technology at InvestGB, highlighted the integration challenge: "This go live is the result of months of close collaboration between our technology and business teams to ensure a seamless transition onto the Avaloq platform. The new infrastructure gives us a stronger technical foundation, tighter system integration, and greater agility to support InvestGB's continued growth."

Akash Anand, Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa and India at Avaloq, noted that GCC financial institutions face increasing pressure to reduce operational complexity: "Together, we have delivered a transformation that will help simplify the bank's operations, increase efficiency and lower total cost of ownership."

Avaloq serves more than 170 financial institutions globally across private banks, wealth managers, investment managers and retail banks. It is a subsidiary of NEC Corporation.
