FlashStart 2026 overhauls DNS security platform with AI threat investigations and UK data residency PoPs

FlashStart 2026 is the largest redesign since the company launched its DNS filtering product. The platform intercepts threats at the DNS layer before a connection is established, checking domain, hosting server IP address, geolocation, and server attributes rather than scanning content after a user reaches a page. The company's average DNS resolution time is 12 milliseconds, consistently ranking among the fastest in independent DNSPerf benchmarks.

The new release adds AI algorithms that automate routine filtering tasks and generate recommendations based on changes in attack activity, giving security teams faster response to evolving threats. A redesigned control panel consolidates policy management, user permissions, and multi-tenant administration, with shared or customised policy support and deeper DNS traffic analysis for visibility into internet activity. Public APIs let ISPs, CSPs, MSPs, and systems integrators embed FlashStart into their own managed security services.

For UK and Irish organisations with data sovereignty obligations, dedicated PoPs in London and Manchester keep DNS query data within the region. The platform also integrates the UK's Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU) Metropolitan Police blacklist, addressing DNS filtering compliance requirements for organisations operating under UK content filtering regulations.

FlashStart processes more than 35 billion web requests daily, protects 32 million users across 160 countries, and serves roughly 20,000 customers including telecoms operators, MSPs, enterprises, public sector bodies, and educational institutions.
