Duco's AI agents cut post-trade reconciliation time by 76% across 12 banks

The results come from Duco's Pacesetters programme, which launched in June 2026 with a select group of clients. Across a range of reconciliation activities, the full group cut overall task time by an average of 76%. The biggest gains came in process building, where participants saved more than 91% of the time previously spent, followed by process optimisation at 84%, and break workflow management and investigation at more than 73%.

Duco's agentic workspace combines the company's rule-based reconciliation platform with AI agents that determine what needs doing and act on it. Clients can also access the platform via Model Context Protocol (MCP), integrating their own agents directly in a headless configuration. The product is now available to new and existing customers.

The timing is pointed. The UK and EU are moving towards T+1 settlement in October 2027, tightening the window for identifying and resolving reconciliation breaks. Duco's agentic approach is designed to absorb that pressure by taking on repetitive operational work and freeing teams for exceptions and decisions.

CIBC Mellon, one of the Pacesetters participants, sees broader implications beyond automation. Jeremy Hulme, the bank's Vice President for Operational Excellence and Transformation, said the platform offers an opportunity to change how work itself is organised rather than just speed existing tasks up.
