BMC appoints Tarun Chopra to lead mainframe AI business following John McKenny retirement

Chopra’s remit at BMC includes advancing the BMC AMI portfolio, which covers AI-driven tooling for mainframe operations, data, security and application development. He will report directly to Ayman Sayed, BMC’s president and CEO.

His predecessor, John McKenny, is retiring after three decades at the company. McKenny is credited with building out BMC’s current Intelligent Z business and overseeing acquisitions including Compuware, Correlog, Model9 and RSM Partners.

Ayman Sayed said: “It is an exciting time for BMC as we continue to advance automation and AI innovation across the mission-critical systems our customers depend on. With Tarun’s unique perspective on the convergence of mainframe, cloud, and enterprise AI, I’m confident his leadership will shape the next era of the mainframe.”
