The Glasgow-based financial controls firm AutoRek has acquired London fintech Grath, folding the younger company's AI-native reconciliation platform and its Topa infrastructure product into a combined portfolio serving banks, payment providers and brokers worldwide.
The acquisition merges two distinct models. AutoRek's flagship platform, positioned as an enterprise private cloud offering, serves organisations with high transaction volumes and stringent regulatory requirements — the ARIA intelligent agent sits inside it for AI-driven operational intelligence. Grath contributed a multi-tenant SaaS reconciliation platform designed for faster deployment and lower infrastructure overhead, alongside Topa, an embedded AI infrastructure product that lets financial services teams wire AutoRek's matching engine, machine-learning models and agentic reasoning layer directly into their own systems.
The combined entity now offers a single governance framework underneath three distinct deployment choices. Customers wanting dedicated infrastructure, managed SaaS or embedded capabilities can move between them without re-onboarding — a flexibility argument increasingly common in enterprise software consolidation, though the integration work required to deliver it in practice is rarely instantaneous.
AutoRek has been expanding internationally: the Miami office and two US-focused sales hires came earlier this year. The Grath deal adds the acquired company's US and UAE client base, extending AutoRek's existing footprint into the Middle East. The firm reports 170 employees across five locations and over 100 clients in 15 countries. Grath, founded in 2019, operated from offices in the UK, UAE and Australia.
The acquisition terms were not disclosed.
