Aurora FundAdmin bets on Avaloq to run its new Dubai operation from day one

When a regulated financial firm opens in one of the world's more demanding financial hubs, its technology has to be right before the first client onboards. Aurora FundAdmin Limited, a new DFSA-regulated firm in Dubai's International Financial Centre (DIFC), has made its choice: Avaloq's platform will serve as the operational backbone from launch.

Established in March 2026 as a subsidiary of the BTA group, Aurora was built to serve the growing institutional fund administration market in the Gulf. The region has been attracting institutional fund structures and specialised financial services firms, and Aurora aims to provide fund accounting, investor services, financial reporting, and regulatory support to that market under DFSA oversight.

Under the agreement, Aurora will run its core operations on the Avaloq platform, covering automated net asset value calculation and validation, real-time transaction booking, and integrated data management. The open architecture lets Aurora connect custodians and market data vendors through a single system, and Avaloq's multi-entity, single-instance architecture is designed to let Aurora add new entities and enter further markets without duplicating operational infrastructure.

The selection extends an existing relationship: Avaloq already serves BTA Finance Limited, Aurora's group company.

Rohit D'Souza, SEO and Board Member at Aurora FundAdmin Limited, said: "With the launch of Aurora FundAdmin Limited, we are setting a new standard in fund administration for institutional investors. We want to establish a strong operational foundation from the outset, and the Avaloq platform provides the level of automation, control and data consistency we need to run our business efficiently. It enables us to serve institutional clients effectively while supporting our growth ambitions. Avaloq is a partner that shares our focus on precision, transparency and operational discipline."

Akash Anand, Managing Director for Middle East, Africa and India at Avaloq, said: "We are proud to have been selected by Aurora FundAdmin Limited as the core system for its fund administration business. This builds on our existing partnership with its group company, BTA Finance Limited, and reflects our strong track record supporting financial institutions in the Middle East. Dubai continues to attract new financial institutions from around the world, while a new generation of regional players is expanding the local ecosystem and creating a more comprehensive range of specialized financial services."

Avaloq serves more than 170 financial institutions globally, including private banks, wealth managers, and investment managers. Its software is available as cloud-based SaaS or on-premises, with a business process outsourcing option. The company is a subsidiary of NEC Corporation.
