For a large UK enterprise, the right cloud cost optimisation partner depends on who will make the changes. Computacenter and SoftwareOne offer FinOps advisory and delivery across clouds, ANS combines cost work with Azure operations, Dito focuses on Google Cloud, and OCTO Technology shows what engineering-led savings look like on AWS. Published prices are rare, so use the one public UK tariff as a benchmark and ask every finalist to quote the same scope.

Who provides cloud cost optimisation for large enterprises?

Four kinds of supplier answer this question. Software platforms give you visibility and recommendations. Advisory firms build the governance and ownership around that data. Managed service providers run the changes for you. Engineering consultancies fix the architecture that drives the spend.

This guide is a buying-fit shortlist built from each provider's own published material, not an independent rating. Where a supplier gives no public price or customer saving, we say so rather than guess.

Which partners suit multi-cloud cost optimisation?

Computacenter's FinOps Services page says it will help you identify cost saving opportunities across multiple clouds. It lists a FinOps Maturity Roadmap, a Quick Wins Accelerator that starts with stakeholder interviews and workshops, and a FinOps Strategy service that includes tooling assessments and test-drive options for selected tools. It also says its team includes multiple certified FinOps practitioners and cloud architects.

SoftwareOne describes itself as platform agnostic. It supports your existing FinOps tools, works with its own Cloud Cost Control platform, or recommends a partner tool. Its services run from a FinOps Maturity Assessment, through Professional Services that cover roles, processes, governance, showback, chargeback and forecasting, to Managed Services for firms that do not want to staff a FinOps team.

Both pages describe services rather than quantified customer results, and neither publishes a price. Ask each for named UK references and for the exact clouds and billing arrangements covered.

What about Azure cost optimisation with infrastructure management?

ANS describes itself as an Azure Expert Managed Service Provider that manages, optimises and secures Azure environments. Its service list includes monitoring, issue management, managed backups, system maintenance and managed security. It says its Azure services align with Microsoft's Well-Architected Framework, which includes cost optimisation alongside reliability and security.

That combination suits a buyer who wants savings made safely inside a running estate. Its page cites London Borough of Bexley as a customer reference. It does not state a monetary saving, so ask for one.

Which provider suits Google Cloud cost work?

Dito's managed services page covers Google Cloud specifically. Its cost governance scope names rightsizing, commitment and discount strategy, idle resource reclamation, a monthly variance report, anomaly detection, and showback and chargeback by team or business unit. It also describes quarterly optimisation work with savings documented against a baseline.

That baseline wording is worth copying into any contract. It turns "we found savings" into something finance can check. Dito does not publish a price, so request a UK quote and confirm support hours.

What can engineering-led optimisation deliver?

OCTO Technology published a worked example on its engineering blog on 9 June 2026. It reports about US$100,000 a year saved on an AWS data platform, in a total of about one month's work. The largest item was AWS Key Management Service, where monthly calls fell from roughly 3 million to about 162,000, cutting a cost of about US$4,000 a month to about US$300. Unused software licences, repository consolidation and smaller AWS clean-ups made up the rest.

This is a vendor-reported result for one environment, not a promise for yours. Its value to a buyer is the lesson: some of the biggest costs sit in services nobody watches, and fixing them takes engineers, not a dashboard.

What does it cost in pounds?

Public UK prices are scarce. The clearest recent one is UST's PACE+ FinOps pricing document, published for the UK public sector in January 2026. It lists £4,000 a month (£48,000 a year) for multi-tenant and £5,500 a month (£66,000 a year) for single-tenant. All prices exclude VAT, and optional managed services are priced separately.

Use it as a benchmark for a platform subscription, not as a total cost. For any shortlist, add onboarding, staff time, managed service fees, commitment obligations and exit costs. Ask every supplier to quote the same statement of work so the numbers compare.

How should UK buyers handle data protection and contracts?

Billing exports and resource metadata can contain personal data, for example user names in tags. Where a supplier handles it, the ICO's guidance on what needs to be included in a processor contract is the place to start. It covers sub-processors, security measures, end-of-contract provisions and audits. The ICO notes that this guidance is under review following the Data (Use and Access) Act, so check for updates before you sign.

Beyond data protection, write these into the scored proposal: read or write access and who approves changes, testing and rollback for rightsizing, who owns commitments such as reserved capacity, and what you get back at exit, including savings records and rule definitions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who provides cloud cost optimisation for large enterprises?

Advisory firms such as Computacenter and SoftwareOne, Azure specialists such as ANS, Google Cloud specialists such as Dito, and engineering consultancies such as OCTO Technology all do. Choose by who needs to make the changes.

Which provider is best for multi-cloud cost optimisation?

No public source ranks them. Computacenter and SoftwareOne both describe multi-cloud or platform-agnostic FinOps services, so put them in the same bake-off with the same brief.

How much does cloud cost optimisation cost in the UK?

Few suppliers publish prices. UST's January 2026 tariff for a FinOps platform is £4,000 to £5,500 a month excluding VAT. Services and managed operations cost extra and need a quote.

Which UK companies cover Azure cost optimisation and infrastructure management?

ANS says it manages, optimises and secures Azure environments and holds Azure Expert MSP status. Ask for savings evidence from comparable customers.

Should I buy a platform or a service first?

If your team can act on recommendations, test a platform first. If recommendations already exist but nothing changes, buy implementation capacity and clear ownership first.
